Nancy Kotz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Gestalt Therapist and faculty member of The Seaside Gestalt Institute. She holds academic degrees from the University of Maryland and the University of Pennsylvania, and received her postgraduate Gestalt therapy training from the renowned Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, Ohio.
Nancy’s dream of creating a place like the Successful Parenting Institute emerged from her extensive education, 20-plus years of counseling experience with families, and her deep love for children. She wondered….
And so, Successful Parenting Institute was born. Hundreds of lectures and word-of-mouth referrals later, Nancy is thrilled to have added more experts to the cause of creating a healthy and peaceful family atmosphere where both parents and children can be their best.
Today Nancy specializes in counseling individuals, couples and families, and speaking to groups large and small throughout the Wilmington area. At home, she has the privilege of practicing what she teaches with her husband and three sons. Nancy is the Founder and Director of Be The Adult, a nonprofit organization that encourages healthy families.
Natasha became partners with Nancy in 2012 to bring her expertise and nurturing spirit to the Successful Parenting Institute. Natasha helps parents build strong supportive relationships with their children that will not only guide them safely into adulthood but give them skills to be happy successful adults. Natasha is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 20+ years experience working with children and families. She is a graduate of the world renowned clinical training program at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and a founder and co-owner of the Seaside Gestalt Institute. She knows that counseling can significantly improve a couple’s relationship and their family.
Dr. Arthur J. Frankel has been working with parents and children for over 35 years. He received a Doctorate in both Psychology and Social Work at the University of Michigan in behavior therapy with a specialization in families and children. As a Professor, he has published more than 30 articles and three books, and has conducted extensive research in children’s issues. Over the course of his career Dr. Frankel has been a professor of social work and psychology at the University of Louisville, Rutgers University, Yeshiva University and is currently a Full Professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Seaside Gestalt Institute faculty member .
Andrea Muro, MSW, LCSW, received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and her master’s degree from New York University School of Social Work. She has extensive psychotherapy experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, and other mental health issues. Ms. Muro believes in supporting and guiding clients in their personal journey of learning and discovery to achieve relationships that are both positive and successful.
Maria is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified Victim Service Practitioner who provides mental health therapy to children, adolescents and adults. She has extensive experience working with victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse who present with depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorders. Ms. Tar obtained her Bachelor degree in Psychology and Master degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and received her Gestalt Therapy postgraduate training at Seaside Gestalt Institute.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has many years of experience working with children and families in non-profit agencies in Knoxville, Seattle and Wilmington. Most recently, Ms. Singletary worked with autistic children in the New Hanover County school system and with the The Open Doors Foundation in Wilmington. She is an artist and calligrapher and has a fourteen year old son.
